Police: jogger finds body of motorcyclist in roadside swamp
HUDSON, Mass. (AP) — Hudson police say a jogger has discovered the body of a woman apparently killed overnight when her motorcycle ended up in a swamp.
Police Chief David Stevens tells WCVB-TV (http://bit.ly/1gVj7If) the body of 27-year-old Amber Zapatka of Lowell was found at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday.
Stevens said it appears Zapatka’s bike skidded off the roadway at a turn and down an embankment where the accident wasn’t noticed for hours.
He said police don’t know exactly what happened but no other vehicles appear to have been involved.
Stevens said the motorcycle was found near “a bad turn in the roadway” that has a posted speed limit of no more than 30 mph.
Police are investigating.
