Alpine School District searching for man who has broken into seven schools

The Alpine School District is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who has broken into multiple schools.

The man has broken into and vandalized seven schools in six months, according to a press release from the Alpine School District. The district does not know how the man has gained entry to schools. Once inside, he spray paints over security cameras and vandalizes vending machines.

Skyridge High School in Lehi, American Fork High School, Pleasant Grove High School, Timpanogos High School in Orem, Lehi Junior High School, Pleasant Grove Junior High School and Shelley Elementary school in Orem have all been vandalized.

The man has damaged 16 machines, according to Kimberly Bird, a spokeswoman for the Alpine School District. The man has done $20,000 in damage to the machines and has stolen an additional $8,000 from them.

The district is working with local police departments to identify the suspect, according to the press release.
