Campbell: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot
CAMDEN, N.J. (AP) _ Campbell Soup Co. (CPB) on Thursday reported fiscal fourth-quarter profit of $94 million.
On a per-share basis, the Camden, New Jersey-based company said it had net income of 31 cents. Earnings, adjusted for one-time gains and costs, came to 25 cents per share.
The results met Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for earnings of 25 cents per share.
The maker of canned soup, Pepperidge Farm cookies and V8 juice posted revenue of $2.22 billion in the period, missing Street forecasts. Five analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $2.24 billion.
For the year, the company reported profit of $261 million, or 86 cents per share. Revenue was reported as $8.69 billion.
Campbell shares have fallen 17 percent since the beginning of the year, while the Standard & Poor’s 500 index has climbed 9 percent. The stock has decreased 21 percent in the last 12 months.
