Robbers Hit Bank Second Time in Six Weeks

March 20, 1992

DARIEN, Conn. (AP) _ Two robbers taunted tellers with the words, ″Remember me?″ as a bank branch was robbed for the second time in six weeks.

Tellers told police that Thursday’s robbers were the same men who stormed into the bank last month and made off with more than $17,000.

Police said the robbers’ operating method also was similar: One robber vaulted over the counter and cleared out the cash drawers, while the other guarded the lobby, bank officials and one customer.

″It sure looks like it was the same guys,″ said police Sgt. Patrick Feighery. ″It really shook up the tellers.″

The pair fled with an undetermined amount of cash Thursday. Police stopped the getaway car and arrested a suspect less than an hour later in New Rochelle, N.Y., after a witness gave them the car’s license number. The second suspect fled on foot.
