Greenwich motorist charged with possession of THC vials
GREENWICH — Police arrested a Greenwich teenager and charged him drug possession after they said they found cannabis and a concentrated from of cannabis in his vehicle early Tuesday morning.
Patrick Vanriel, 18, of Le Grande Ave., was charged with operating a drug factory, possession of drug paraphernalia and illegal possession around 1:45 a.m. after a traffic stop on East Putnam Avenue. His car did not have proper illumination for the rear license plate, according to the arrest report, and two jars of marijuana were in plain view when an officer approached.
Police said they found nine vials of THC oil, a purified extract of marijuana, inside a backpack in the car. Two inhalers were also recovered, the arrest report stated.
Vanriel was also given a ticket for having an improperly displayed license plate.
Bail was set at $500, and he was given a court date of Aug. 8.
