Freeze warning issued for Cameron County

November 14, 2018

The National Weather Service in Brownsville has included Brownsville and Harlingen in a freeze warning it issued earlier.

The NWS reports the freeze warning will be in effect from midnight tonight until 9 a.m. Wednesday.

Weather officials reports temperatures of 28 to 32 degrees are anticipated and that temperatures at or below freezing are expected to last between three to eight hours.

The NWS reports the low temperatures could harm unprotected pets, plants and pipes. Officials urge residents to dress in layers, with a wind resistant outer layer. People should also wear a hat, mittens or insulated gloves.
