FBI AGENT-ACCIDENTAL CLUB SHOOTING
DENVER — An off-duty FBI agent charged with second-degree assault is due back in court for a preliminary hearing. Investigators say Chase Bishop accidentally fired a weapon that fell while he was dancing at a Denver club and wounded another patron in the leg. Bishop, who lives and works in Washington, D.C., was released on bond in mid-June.

DENVER — An illegal campfire likely ignited another destructive blaze in Colorado, an outcome authorities were trying to avoid across the hot, dry U.S. West by enforcing strict fire rules and closing some public lands. SALT LAKE CITY — A Utah militia group leader who pleaded guilty to trying to blow up a federal cabin in Arizona is being released on time served after spending two years in jail. Judge David Sam said Monday that 59-year-old William Keebler had been a model prisoner and noted his multiple physical ailments including prostate cancer and cardiac disease as reasons for not imprisoning him longer.
