Undated (AP) _ NEW CANAAN, Conn. (Cliff Drysdale defeated Owen Davidson 6-2, 7-5 to win the 45-and-over title in the $50,000 Merrill Lynch Tennis Classic Sunday at the New Canaan Racquet Club.

Drysdale, who won the 35-and-over title in this event in 1984, served 13 aces in winning $10,000. The No. 2-ranked 45-and-over player in the world broke Davidson's served twice in the first set and once in the second.

Marty Riessen won the 35-and-over title, beating Stan Smith 6-4, 6-7, 6-4 Saturday night.

In Sunday's doubles final, Stan Smith and Mal Anderson defeated Bob Lutz and Roy Emerson 7-6, 7-6 Sunday.
