FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. (AP) — Authorities say two teenagers were killed and five other people injured in a multi-vehicle wreck on the outskirts of metro Phoenix.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety says preliminary information indicates a big rig carrying lumber ran a red light and collided with three other vehicles and spilled its load, which struck another vehicle.

The wrecks occurred Tuesday night in Fountain Hills at the intersection of State Route 87 and Shea Boulevard.

The DPS says a 15-year-old boy died at the scene and a 14-year-old girl died at a hospital. Details on the other people's injuries and conditions weren't released.

SR 87 reopened early Wednesday morning.
