Team Nebraska leads after first day of Nebraska/Kansas Junior Cup Matches

The Nebraska/Kansas Junior Cup Matches got underway at Lawrence Country Club in Kansas yesterday.

Team Nebraska holds a 5-3 lead after the first day. Norfolk’s Luke Kluver & Plainview’s Tucker Knaak won their four ball match 7 & 5 while Norfolk’s Kellen Rossman & La Vista’s Alex Zillig claimed a 5 & 4 victory in their match. In the foursome matches, Kluver & Lincoln’s Josh Bartels won their competition 4 & 2 while Knaak and Aurora’s Caleb Badura were a 1 up winner. Eight singles matches are held today. Similar to the Ryder Cup, each match is worth one point. Kansas won the 2017 matches, 9-7, to keep the Cup for a seventh straight year. They lead the overall series 19-13.
