Keeping up with Conn. traffic on Saturday

With the weekend comes more motorists on highways throughout the day.

And with more cars on the highways, more accidents tend to pop up. Below is the most updated list for highway crashes, car fires and more in Connecticut on Saturday.

The information below is gathered from the Connecticut Department of Transportation, state police and local police and fire departments. Unless otherwise stated, injuries in connection with any of the incidents were not immediately released.

EAST LYME:

A two-car crash was reported on I-95 south at 6:02 p.m. The crash is between exits 73 and 72. The left lane is closed.

WESTPORT:

An overturned vehicle was reported at 6:01 p.m. on I-95 north between exits 18 and 19. The right lane is closed.

STAMFORD: Cleared

A three-car crash on Route 15 south between exits 54 and 54 has the left lane closed. It was reported at 5:02 p.m. By 6:15 p.m., the site of the crash was cleared and the left lane was reopened to traffic.

CANAAN:

Route 63 is closed between Route 7 and Route 126 because of a tree down on wires. This was reported at 12:58 p.m.

KILLINGLY:

Route 12 Main Street is closed at the railroad cross because of road work. The road work will continue until 4 p.m. Monday.
