SEATTLE (AP) _ The Seattle SuperSonics said Monday they have signed forward Chuck Person and forward-center Steve Scheffler.

Person, a 13-year veteran, averaged 6.1 points and 2.6 rebounds in 50 games last season with Charlotte. He has also played with the Indiana Pacers, Minnesota Timberwolves and San Antonio Spurs.

Scheffler, who played in the CBA last season, has played seven seasons in the NBA with Charlotte and Denver as well as Seattle.

The Sonics, who have 16 players on the roster, have their first practice of training camp on Tuesday.

The first exhibition game is Oct. 17 against Portland in Corvallis, Ore. The season opens Nov. 2 against the Clippers in Los Angeles.
