Roger Butler -- McGregor, Minn.

Roger Brent Butler, of McGregor, died Monday, Nov. 26, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester. He was born Oct. 23, 1952, in Owatonna, to Emil and Lorraine (Cain) Butler. He grew up on the family farm near West Concord and moved to McGregor 49 years ago and has resided there since. He was a graduate of McGregor High School.

Roger owned his own business, Butler Spraying Service and also was a millwright and member of Local 548. Besides his children and grandchildren, his greatest joy in life was being active in his work. He was an independent and bold man that enjoyed boating, bobcating, and building things.

Roger is survived by his partner, Kathi Bombarger; daughters, Shaila (Grant) Moody and Shirin Butler; brothers, Perry, Steve, Dalen (Jolene), Dan (Tonya), Randy (Sonia), and Brian (Vicki); sisters, Mona (Donald) McMartin, Lorraine (Paul) Mueller, Veletta (Todd) Gartner, and Rhonda (Richard) Egan; sisters-in-law, Nancy DeSota Butler and Wendy Butler Summers; grandchildren, Isaiah, Augustine, Julia and Malachi Moody; Gavin and Hannah Bancroft and their parents, Heather and Tyler; one aunt, Bonnie Butler; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Penny; brothers, Loren and Rodney; and nephews, Matthew and Willie Mueller.

A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at the McGregor Community Center in McGregor, Minn., with Rev. Erika Foss officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the community center. A luncheon will follow the service.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Concord Cemetery in West Concord, with Pastor David Breederlon officiating. A luncheon will follow at the American Legion in West Concord.
