Big Mac Museum planning bash for burger’s golden anniversary
To celebrate 50 years of Big Macs, a sandwich concocted in Pittsburgh by franchisee Jim Delligatti, the Big Mac Museum in North Huntingdon will host a day-long celebration on Thursday.
McDonald’s has introduced the MacCoin, which will entitle Big Mac purchasers at participating restaurants to a free sandwich Aug. 3 through year’s end.
The coins will become available at lunchtime tomorrow.
Delligatti’s descendants are scheduled to attend the Aug. 2 event, which is open to the public and will include live radio show broadcasts, a concert by Johnny Angel and the Halos, a giant Big Mac cake from Bethel Bakery, and Steelers tickets giveaways.
