Hot-shooting Ants cruise

The Mad Ants produced their highest point total of the season in a 140-119 victory Monday over the Long Island Nets at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

It was the first time the Mad Ants scored at least 140 since Jan. 18, 2014, when they beat Iowa 142-131.

Alize Johnson had 23 points and 10 rebounds for his 17th double-double of the season to lead the Mad Ants.

Rob Gray scored 25 points on 10-of-17 shooting with five assists for Fort Wayne (17-15), which shot 60.8 percent from the field, including 59 percent from 3-point range (13 of 22).

Tra-Deon Hollins had a career-best 19 points and 10 assists and Omari Johnson had 11 points for the Mad Ants.

Long Island (21-11), which came in with the Eastern Conference’s best record, was paced by Dzanan Musa’s 26 points.

The Mad Ants play host to the Capital City Go-Go at 11 a.m. Thursday at Memorial Coliseum.
