Stamford schools to dismiss early Tuesday amid hot temperatures
STAMFORD — Public schools in Stamford will dismiss early on Tuesday due to hot weather, Superintendent Earl Kim said in a tweet.
The announcement on Monday evening, also on the schools website, comes following a similar action on Thursday, the first day of classes where temperatures exceeded 90 degrees.
Average temperature this August averaged about 4 degrees above normal, according to the Northeast Regional Climate Center.
Last summer, we had no 90-degree days in August.
