Atlantic Beach fire chief critically injured in ski accident
The Town of Atlantic Beach posted on Sunday that Adam Snyder, the town’s EMS and fire chief, was critically injured Saturday while on a ski trip with his family.
According to the Facebook post, Snyder was skiing at the Wintergreen Resort in Virginia. After the accident, he was rushed to the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville, where he was in critical condition on Sunday with family members and coworkers by his side.
According to the post, Snyder, 47, is a 20-year member of the Atlantic Beach Fire Department and has served as chief for 15 years. He is a United States Marine Corps veteran, where he served as a rescue swimmer.
“Mayor Trace Cooper, the Town Council and the ABFD members request you hold our chief and the Snyder family in your prayers,” the post read.
