SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) _ Ralph Intranouvo scored four goals and assisted on two others Saturday to lead the Cape Breton Oilers to a 9-5 American Hockey League victory over the Springfield Falcons.

Interanouvo put Cape Breton on the board with an unassisted, short-handed tally at 11:32 of the first period. Springfield had opened up a 3-0 lead on goals by Mark Deazeley, Robert Petrovicky and John LeBlanc.

Intranouvo cut the Falcons’ lead to 3-2 just 50 seconds into the second period, but Brad Jones restored Springfield’s two-goal advantage 42 seconds later.

The Oilers roared back on Intranouvo’s third and fourth goals at 5:32 and 6:55 to knot the score 4-4. They took command as Jozef Cierny, John Van Kessel and Scott Ferguson gave Cape Breton a 7-4 advantage going into the third period.

Brad Zavisha and Duane Dennis completed the scoring for the Oilers and Marek Malik had the final Springfield goal as the game turned ugly with referee Marc Joannette calling 183 minutes in penalties in the third period.

Springfield had 101 in the final stanza and the Oilers had 82.
