Longtime Memphis broadcaster Forrest Goodman dies
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) — Forrest Goodman, a longtime member of the Memphis football and men’s basketball broadcast team, has died. He was 48.
Memphis athletic department spokeswoman Tammy DeGroff said Goodman’s wife, Michelle, told the school Goodman died Monday night. Memphis issued a release announcing Goodman’s death that said he’d been battling multiple health issues.
Goodman joined Memphis’ radio network in 1999 and was the pregame and postgame host for various game broadcasts. Goodman hosted coaches’ shows featuring basketball coaches John Calipari, Josh Pastner and Tubby Smith as well as football coaches Justin Fuente, Mike Norvell, Larry Porter and Tommy West.
Goodman was Delta State’s play-by-play voice before joining the Memphis radio network. He also was a digital strategist at The (Memphis) Commercial Appeal.
