Court Blocks Memoirs of Duchess of York’s Former Cook
LONDON (AP) _ The High Court has prevented a former employee of the Duchess of York from publishing details about her onetime boss’ turbulent private life.
Saturday’s order prevents Simone Vanderpump from publishing any details relating to the two years she worked as a cook for the duchess, better known as Fergie.
In its early editions, the Sunday Mirror said Mrs. Vanderpump would reveal ″her incredible Upstairs Downstairs life with the Royals.″
But the tabloid could only publish a picture of the blonde Mrs. Vanderpump, who worked for the duchess during the period leading up to her March 1992 separation from Prince Andrew, the second oldest son of Queen Elizabeth II.
The Sunday Express reported Mrs. Vanderpump had apologized to the duchess. ″I never meant to cause her any pain or embarrassment,″ it quoted her as saying. ″I have nothing bad to say about the duchess.″
The 33-year-old duchess, the former Sarah Ferguson, has recently been trying to improve her poor public image.
