Angie Lappe of Sioux City will celebrate her 90th birthday with a gathering of friends and family from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Oct. 6 at Stoney Creek Inn, 300 Third St., in Sioux City. Dinner will be served at noon. Angie requests no cards or gifts.
Her children are Ron Willemsen of Rancho Cucamonga, California, Charles Willemsen of Chino, California, Dave Lappe of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Lynette Anthony of Omaha, and Sheila Hall of Des Moines. She has eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Angie was born on Jan. 9, 1929, in Sioux City. She married Lee Willemsen in 1953. They divorced in 1957. She married John Lappe in 1963. John passed away in 2004.
Angie has studied music her whole life. After her high school graduation, she attended the Music Conservatory in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a professional organist for several years, performing in night clubs throughout the Midwest and Louisiana. She taught piano, accordion and organ for 25 years. She was a real estate broker. She owned and operated a neighborhood bar for 10 years. Since her retirement, she has enjoyed spending time with her family, golfing and playing cards.
