Don Newman Named Bucks Asst. Coach

MILWAUKEE (AP) _ Don Newman, an assistant coach the past two years at the University of Oregon, has joined the staff of Milwaukee Bucks coach George Karl.

The announcement by new Bucks general manager Ernie Grunfeld on Tuesday completed the coaching staff for the upcoming season. It also includes assistant coaches Terry Stotts, Ron Adams and Mike Thibault, and scout and assistant Mike McNeive.

``I know Don from our days when he played for me in the CBA,″ Karl said. ``He was a great player for me in the CBA and has used that knowledge and experience and turned that into becoming an excellent coach.″

The 41-year-old Newman was a head coach at Sacramento State and an assistant at Washington State.
