WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) _ A jury recommended Thursday that a 72-year-old man be put to death for murdering a tenant in his boarding house.

If a judge accepts the recommendation, James Dorsey would be the oldest person on Delaware's death row since the turn of the century.

No sentencing date was set.

Dorsey was convicted last week of shooting to death Frank Williams, 54, in 1996. Williams sometimes helped run an illegal liquor store Dorsey operated in his Wilmington boarding house.

Prosecutors said Dorsey was angry at Williams because he neglected the liquor store while Dorsey was on vacation.

Defense lawyers suggested Williams shot himself in a fit of depression induced by cocaine and financial problems.
