Woman charged with dealing meth
A Wolcottville woman was charged in federal court after a grand jury returned a single-count indictment accusing her of dealing methamphetamine.
Kristin M. Ferguson, also known as “Detroit,” 29, appeared before Magistrate Susan Collins on Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Fort Wayne, according to U.S. Attorney Thomas Kirsch.
The grand jury found that Ferguson was in possession of 50 grams or more of the drug with the intent to distribute it, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
Her charges came after an investigation by the Wolcottville Police Department, Noble County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration.

Shane Patton, the man charged with neglect in the death of 2-year-old Jocelyn “JoJo” Belcher, was released Wednesday from the Allen County Jail on $30,000 bond, according to a jail spokesman.
Patton, 31, is charged with three counts of felony neglect and faces up to 581/2 years in prison if he is convicted on each count. A three-day trial is scheduled July 30.
Crystal M. Belcher, 29, the girl’s mother, pleaded guilty in March to felony neglect and will be sentenced in August.
