SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) _ Glenn Hoffman drove in five runs, while Bill Buckner, Marty Barrett and Don Stenhouse knocked in four each to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 27-10 victory Wednesday over the Chicago White Sox.

Hoffman, Barrett and John Christensen collected three hits apiece to lead Boston’s 22-hit attack. Barrett tripled twice, and Rich Gedman hit his first home run of the spring.

White Sox starter and loser Joel Davis gave up 11 runs in four innings. Boston starter Roger Clemens yielded three runs in five innings to get the victory.

Ron Kittle and Daryl Boston had three hits each for the White Sox. Kittle and Rudy Law also hit their first homers of the spring.
