Friday traffic, crashes across Conn.

As commuters hit to the roads ahead of the weekend on Friday, traffic backed up and there were crashes across highways throughout the state.

Below is the most updated information regarding crashes in the state and when they clear. Reports are based on information from the Connecticut Department of Transportation, local police and fire units and Connecticut State Police.

Unless otherwise indicated, there was no immediate word on injuries to those involved in any of the crashes.

STAMFORD — cleared by 5:56 p.m.

I-95 north is congested between Exit 2 and Exit 9 because of a two-car crash between Exit 8 and Exit 9. The left lane is closed. Reported at 5:39 p.m.

NORWALK

I-95 south is congested between Exit 17 and Exit 15 because of a multi-car crash between Exit 16 and Exit 15. The right lane is closed. Reported at 5:28 p.m.

BRIDGEPORT — cleared by 5:57 p.m.

I-95 south is congested between Exit 32 and Exit 29 because of a three-car crash between Exits 30 and 29. The right and center lanes are closed. Reported at 5:40 p.m.

BERLIN

A two-car crash on Route 9 north between Exit 22 and Exit 24. One lane is open. Reported at 5:13 p.m.

BRIDGEPORT — cleared by 5:56 p.m.

Route 8 south is congested between Exit 5 and Exit 2 because of a two-car crash between Exits 3 and 2. The left lane is closed. Reported at 4:51 p.m.

Fire officials that responded indicated there were two crashes in this area — one just before Exit 2 and one near Exit 2. AMR was requested for the crash prior to the exit.
