HONG KONG (AP) _ Philip Jonas of Canada shot a 6-under-par 65 in the opening round on Thursday to take a one-stroke lead in the Kent Hong Kong Open.

Americans Jeff Maggert and Gary Webb were among five players one stroke off the pace. The others were Brazilian Antonio Barcellos, Taiwanese Chen Tze- chung and Craig Kamps of South Africa.

Defending champion Brian Watts of the United States shot a 67.


SYDNEY, Australia (AP) - Fiji’s Krishna Singh has a one-stroke lead after firing a 5-under-par 67 in the opening round of the Canon Challenge golf tournament on Thursday.

Singh is the older brother of PGA Tour player Vijay Singh.

Americans Hank Baran and Dean Wilson were in an eight-man group at 68.


GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - The Green Bay Packers on Thursday revoked four season tickets from two season ticket holders because of misconduct at games last season.

″The revocations stem from separate incidents at Milwaukee County Stadium and Lambeau Field,″ said Lance Lopes, the Packers’ general legal counsel.

″Both incidents involved drunk and disorderly fan behavior in the stadium during the course of the games, which led to arrests. In each case, the arrested parties were not the ticket holders of record.″

Lopes said, ″The Packers will continue to monitor fan behavior in an effort to make the games more enjoyable for all fans.″


CRANBURY, N.J. (AP) - Ron Bertovich resigned as commissioner of the Atlantic 10 Conference on Thursday, after eight years in the job. The resignation is effective April 15.

As his resignation was announced, Bertovich was appointed vice president/ general manager of Empire Sports Network, based in West Seneca, N.Y.
