3 hurt in crash near downed tree
A motorist reporting a fallen tree watched as her vehicle was smashed and totaled by another driver attempting to avoid a roadblock in DeKalb County.
Officers said the crash happened just after 7 p.m. Thursday when a 43-year-old Ashley woman pulled over to report the downed tree in the 1100 block of Indiana 327.
A 2012 Ford Focus traveling south tried to avoid the tree by swerving, but hit it and bounced head on into the stopped vehicle, a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica, according to a news release.
At least three people were taken to hospitals, but were released, officers said.
A 22-year-old Auburn woman was driving the Focus. She had three passengers in her vehicle. The other driver had one passenger.
