Sumter pest control company wants to grow in Florence

November 22, 2018

FLORENCE, S.C. — Clark’s Termite & Pest Control of Sumter joined ambassadors from the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce Wednesday to celebrate the business’s new chamber membership with a ribbon cutting.

Manager Tommy Brown said his branch covers much more than the Sumter area. The branch covers Florence, Darlington, Hartsville, Lugoff, Camden and other areas of the Pee Dee.

Brown said joining the chamber will help his business continue to grow.

“We’re trying to grow in Florence,” Brown said. “The chamber gets a lot of publicity and a lot of hits on their website. I’m hoping that when people look, they’ll see somebody new and they’ll give us a try.”

Clark’s Termite & Pest Control was established in 1963 by Frank Clark in Irmo. The business has since expanded to covering areas across South Carolina, as well as in Georgia and North Carolina.

Brown said the business offers a variety of services, including pest control, mosquito services, termite protection, control of bedbugs and fleas and wildlife exclusion.

Brown cut the ribbon with his wife and two daughters. He said he was happy they could be there for support.

“It’s really neat. I’ve never done anything like this before,” Brown said. “It was very comforting to have my wife and two daughters with me today. They keep me calm.”
