Heard on the Street: Senior center names new executive director
A new executive director has taken the reins of 125 Live, Rochester’s senior center.
Sylwia Bujak Oliver, who had been working as the facility’s operations manager, took on the top job last week. The center provides a variety of services for area seniors and others at 125 Elton Hills Drive NW.
“She not only brings meaningful experience and proven leadership to the position, but a true passion and enthusiasm for 125 Live’s mission,” board president Matthew Hogan said in the announcement.
Bujack holds a master’s of laws LLM degree from Adam Mickiewicz University.
Oliver became the operations director in March, a month after the previous executive director, Sally Gallagher, announced her resignation.
Gallagher’s resignation came after the longtime executive director shepherded the transformation of what was previously called the Senior Center into 125 Live. The new, $26 million-plus facility opened in Northwest Rochester in November 2016.
