Knee injury may not keep Colts’ Fleener out long
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Colts tight end Coby Fleener says he plans to return to practice Tuesday, though he may be limited by a sprained knee.
For Fleener, it’s been a frustrating couple of weeks. After losing a fumble and dropping a touchdown pass in a preseason opening loss to Buffalo, he was diagnosed with a concussion. Fleener recovered in time to practice late last week, then had a ball bounce off his back against the Giants. He left the game early because of the knee injury, but the MRI came back negative.
The Colts also hope to have tight end Dwayne Allen back on the field sometime this week. He’s been out with a right foot injury.
Coach Chuck Pagano said backup linebacker Lawrence Sidbury is getting a second opinion on his injured shoulder.
