Blue Ridge Girls Volleyball Posts Season-opening Sweep

Blue Ridge opened the Lackawanna League girls volleyball season by sweeping Abington Heights, 3-0, on Friday.

Brianna Post had 12 assists, Erin Houlihan had five kills and five aces, Jerni Schell had 14 digs and Hunter Heeman had five kills for Blue Ridge.

Gianna Toth had 16 assists, Adele Hollander had five digs and six kills and Victoria Cole had six kills for Abington Heights.

JV: BR, 2-1.

Forest City 3, Lackawanna Trail 2

At Lackawanna Trail, Jordan Coles had 10 kills and Kary Gillette had 10 points to lead Forest City.

Keanna Savage added eight points for the Lady Foresters.

Ashtyn Mecca had seven kills and nine assists for Lackawanna Trail, Monica Stuenzi had seven kills and Katelin Walton had 14 digs.

Susquehanna 3, Montrose 0

At Susquehanna, Mackenzie Rhone had six kills, and 13 points; Bethany Burns had 19 points and Bethany Maybe had 11 assists for the winners.

Grace Aukema had five aces and

10 points and Caden Rowe had 15 digs for Montrose.

At Elk Lake, Caitlyn Williams had 17 points and 10 assists, Chelsea Rumola had 16 kills and Rachael Gerfin added seven kills for Mountain View.

For Elk Lake, Ameilia Conley had five assists and Montana Kerr had five digs.

Golf

At Honesdale, Ben WIlliams shot 37 and Aidan Pietraszewski shot 38 and each won two points as the Hornets defeated Delaware Valley, 7-2, in a Lackawanna League golf match.

At Pine Hills, Pat Durkin and Colin Virkitis swept three points in the first group to lead Carbondale Area.
