Police: Omaha man killed in midtown motorcycle crash
OMAHA, Neb. (AP) — Police say a 22-year-old Omaha man died after the motorcycle he was driving hit a curb.
Police say the crash happened Thursday afternoon in the midtown area of Omaha when Augustus Slavik’s westbound motorcycle hit a curb on Leavenworth Street.
Investigators say the motorcycle then left the street, causing Slavik to hit a tree while the motorcycle continued on the sidewalk. Several passers-by started CPR on Slavik until medics arrived.
Slavik was rushed to an Omaha hospital, where he died.
Police say Slavik was wearing a motorcycle helmet.
