PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) _ Darci Wellsandt scored 23 points and went 15 for 18 at the free throw line as Washington State edged Oregon State 77-74 in overtime in a Pacific-10 game Thursday night.

Oregon State (7-13, 2-8) tied the game at 66 on Sonjhia Fleming's layin with 16 seconds left in regulation.

Washington State (11-8, 4-6) opened the overtime period with a pair of free throws from Wellsandt. Missy Smith tied it again for Oregon State at 68 with two free throws.

Washington State took a 74-68 lead with 2:45 to play on a Heather Norman jumper followed by a pair for free throws each from Kathy Weber and then Wellsandt.

Oregon State responded with six straight points from Judy Shannon to tie the game at 74 with 57 seconds left. With 34 seconds remaining, Wellsandt hit a pair of free throws and Norman followed with one to seal the victory.

Norman scored 17 points for the Cougars and Angie Peterson added 10.

Shannon led the Beavers with 21 points. Margo Evashevski added 15 and Fleming 14.
