NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) — A Mississippi woman has been arrested and charged with killing her boyfriend.
Adams County Sheriff Travis Patten told the Natchez Democrat that 31-year-old Jessica Aldridge has been charged with murder in the death of 41-year-old Joseph Cupit around 7 p.m. Sunday.
Patten said deputies found Cupit lying by his vehicle be a road.
Paramedics performed CPR but Coroner James Lee pronounced Cupit dead around 8:30 p.m.
Patten said Aldridge told investigators the couple got into an argument and Cupit had choked her.
The sheriff said Cupit was getting into his vehicle to leave when they argued more and she shot him. Patten said eyewitnesses said Aldridge fired from the house and was not in any immediate danger.
