Man and woman dead after their motorcycle crashes into construction barrel on Interstate 84

A man and woman died on Saturday after their motorcycle struck a construction barrel on Interstate 84 near Caldwell.

On Saturday, September 1, 2018, at 12:10 PM, Idaho State Police responded to a crash on westbound Interstate 84 at milepost 17, near the Sand Hollow Exit west of Caldwell.

Christopher Pierpont, 42, of Mountain Home was riding westbound on a 2007 Yamaha motorcycle. Christine Pierpont, 43, of Mountain Home was a passenger on the motorcycle.

Christopher struck a construction barrel in the construction zone and lost control of the motorcycle. Christopher and Christine were thrown from the motorcycle and succumbed to their injuries at the crash scene. Both were wearing helmets.

Next of kin has been notified.

Idaho State Police were assisted by Canyon County Sheriff’s Office, Canyon County Paramedics, Canyon County Coroner and Caldwell Fire Department.
