Boyd County defeats Sayre 2-0 in girls soccer

CANNONSBURG, Ky. — Isabella Caldwell scored a goal in the 22nd minute to give Boyd County all it needed in a 2-0 triumph over Lexington Sayre Thursday night in girls high school soccer.

Gracie Borders scored in the 52nd minute to set the score as the Lions improved to 2-0. Graci Opell earned the shut out in goal.

The Spartans fell to 1-1.

Boyd County returns to action at 6 p.m. Monday at Johnson Central.

EAST CARTER 4, ASHLAND 0: Taylor Hall scored all four of the Raiders’ goal in a triumph over the Kittens.

Hall, who finished with 72 goals to finish second in the state last season, was held scoreless in East Carter’s first two contests.
