Signet: Fiscal 2Q Earnings Snapshot
HAMILTON, Bermuda (AP) _ Signet Jewelers Ltd. (SIG) on Thursday reported a loss of $36.1 million in its fiscal second quarter.
On a per-share basis, the Hamilton, Bermuda-based company said it had a loss of 86 cents. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, were 51 cents per share.
The results exceeded Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 26 cents per share.
The jewelry company posted revenue of $1.36 billion in the period.
For the current quarter ending in November, Signet expects its results to range from a loss of $1.16 per share to a loss of $1.02 per share.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $1.14 billion to $1.16 billion for the fiscal third quarter.
Signet expects full-year earnings in the range of $2.91 to $3.23 per share, with revenue ranging from $6 billion to $6.03 billion.
Signet shares have fallen 65% since the beginning of the year. The stock has decreased 83% in the last 12 months.
