Thanksgiving event calendar for Aiken County

Here are some upcoming events in Aiken for Thanksgiving:

• Thanksgiving Story Time - Nov. 13 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at H. Odell Weeks Activity Center. Hosted by the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department, cookies and juice will be provided and a free book will be given to each family that attends.

• Turkey Time Activities - Nov. 20 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Smith Hazel Recreation Center. This event is also hosted by the City of Aiken Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Department. Take part in a Turkey Walk and a Turkey Shootout to help promote a healthier lifestyle. Registration ends Nov. 16. The cost is $5 per child ages 4 to 14. Call 803-642-7634 for more information.

• 1 Mile Fun Run - Nov. 22 at 8 a.m. at Citizen’s Park. The event is hosted by 2 Girls and A Clock Race & Timing Services. It will begin at 651 Old Airport Road and benefits the Golden Harvest Food Bank. Register at active.com.

• Aiken turkey Trot 5K - Nov. 22 at 8:30 a.m. at Citizen’s Park, and is hosted by 2 Girls and A Clock Race & Timing Services. The event will begin at 651 Old Airport Road and benefits the Golden Harvest Food Bank. Register at active.com.

• Bloodies and Bagels - Nov. 22 at 9 a.m. at Aiken County Historical Museum. Bagels of various flavors, cream cheese, coffee and Bloody Marys will be served. There is no cost to attend but donations will be accepted.

• Blessing of the Hounds - Nov. 22 at 11 a.m. at Memorial Gate in Hitchcock Woods (expect a 30-minute walk from parking downtown to the location).

• One Table - Nov. 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Alley and Newberry Street. For more information, visit onetable.info.
