Rolling Prairie Food Pantry honers Rose Lenig

April 14, 2019

ROLLING PRAIRIE — The Board of Directors of the Community Food Pantry of Galena, Hudson, Kankakee and Wills Townships Inc. hosted their 2018 Appreciation Dinner on March 25.

This annual event is to thank all who have contributed food, time, money or participated in one of the projects sponsored by the food pantry in the past year.

The board honored Rose Lenig for her many years of achievement in starting the pantry and promoting its growth.

The pantry, now located in the Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church, was started by Lenig and two other people in September 2007 from the back of her husband’s pickup truck.

The pantry was incorporated in 2014 and is sponsored by five area churches. The number of clients for 2018 was 186.

We owe Lenig a big thank you for all her years of service to her community and for helping others.
