ANOTHER REASON WE’RE HEAVIER

Too much soda;

too many carbs; too many restaurant meals —the list of why so many of us are overweight goes on and on.

But research says one big reason is simple: we take in more food, by pound, than we used to.

In 1970, the average American ate about 16.4 pounds of food a week, or 2.3 pounds daily. The typical American is now taking in 18.5 pounds of food each week.
