Tires stolen off two more Hondas in Stamford
STAMFORD — The thieves targeting Honda Civic tires appear to have struck again.
Nearly a month after the tires and rims were stolen from a pair of Civics in Stamford, two more cars were found perched on milk crates over the weekend.
“Somebody must have a pipeline into selling the rims off these cars,” Sgt. Sean Scanlan said.
Scanlan said the tires were taken from a late model Civic in the 400-block of Glenbrook Road sometime Saturday into Sunday. Another Civic was found on milk crates in the 1000-block of Hope Street on Monday morning.
Scanlan said thieves tried to steal four more tires and rims off a Honda on upper Hope Street, but the owner had installed locking lug nuts that foiled the attempt.
Scanlan said police plan to review surveillance from at least one video on Hope Street.
The July incidents, which occurred on Glenrook Road and Summer Street, remain under investigation.
“We are confident we will have a suspect in this case very soon,” Scanlan said.
