Family hurt in morning fire

A family of six is recovering after a fire ravaged their two-story Fort Wayne home early today, officials said.

Two adults and four children were treated and taken to the hospital with minor injuries following the fire that crews began attacking at 2:16 a.m., according to a news release.

Heavy smoke and flames were visible from a second-floor window when firefighters arrived at the home, 1707 Fairhill Road.

The family made it out ahead of emergency responders.

It took crews 13 minutes to get the blaze under control. The fire remains under investigation.
