Names of 2 killed in motorcycle crash released
HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. (AP) — Police have released the names of a man and woman killed in a motorcycle crash in Pennsylvania over the weekend.
The Hanover Township police department said Monday that 34-year-old Manuel Meson Ventura was operating the 2011 Kawasaki motorcycle that crashed shortly before 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Route 29 near the Interstate 81 ramp in Hanover Township.
He was killed along with another Wilkes-Barre resident, 18-year-old Yaleri Del Carmen Carballo Meson, when the motorcycle veered off the road and hit a guide rail. Neither was wearing a helmet and both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Firefighters and emergency medical units from the township and Nanticoke responded to the crash. Police are asking anyone with information on the crash to call investigators.
