Stamford woman charged with stabbing husband in back
STAMFORD — A city woman was arrested early Monday morning for allegedly stabbing her husband in the back with a knife.
Sgt. Paul Guzda said Marissa Frantisak, 34, of Washington Boulevard, was charged with first-degree assault and two counts of risk of injury to a child because two children were in the apartment at the time of the assault. She is being held in lieu of a $50,000 court-appearance bond.
“We are continuing to try to interview both parties,” Guzda said. “Patrol officers were confronted by two very intoxicated people and one was the victim of an obvious assault to the back area with a knife and we are trying to get additional information from them.”
The husband was transported to Stamford Hospital where he continues to be treated. The children have been turned over to the husband’s parents in New Canaan.
Guzda said he did not know what provoked the stabbing.
