Lady Cougars open against Needles

Bullhead City — The Laughlin High School Lady Cougars open their NIAA 2A South League 2018-19 schedule with an away game against the Needles High School Lady ’Stangs on Dec. 4 at 3 p.m. for junior varsity and 6 p.m. for Varsity.

The opening game is a big test for the Lady Cougars as they lost both encounters with the Lady ’Stangs during the 2017-18 season.

The Lady Cougars had an overall record of 9-13 and a league record of 7-9, last season, which placed them sixth in the standings. Like most teams, the Lady Cougars are looking to improve on their overall record and their league record.

The Lady Cougars’ first home game in the Cougars Den is against the Indian Springs Lady Thunderbirds on Dec. 5 at 3:30 p.m.

The Cougars Den is located at 1900 Cougar Drive.

The first league game of the year for the Lady Cougars is against The Meadows Lady Mustangs on Dec. 7 at 4:30 p.m. Then the Lady Cougars travel to take on the Adelson High School Lady Lions on Dec. 12 at 5 p.m.

After the brief road game the Lady Cougars have three back to back home games starting with the Mountain View Lady Saints on Dec. 12 at 4:30 p.m. and the Lake Mead Lady Eagles on Dec. 14 at 5 p.m.

To finish the three home game stretch, the Lady Cougars get their first crack at defending champions Lincoln County Lady Lynx on Dec. 21 at 6 p.m.

The Lady Cougars take a break from league action and travel to play the Lady Thunderbirds on Jan. 8 at 3:30 p.m. then take on the Green Valley Christian School Lady Guardians at home on Jan. 9 at 4:30 p.m.

After their out-of-league matchup, the Lady Cougars’ schedule intensifies as their remaining games are against league opponents.

It all starts with the Lady Cougars traveling to take on the Calvery Chapel Lady Lions on Jan. 11 at 4:30 p.m. They’re back in the Cougars Den against their downriver rival the Lady ’Stangs at 6 p.m.

After their matchup with the Lady ’Stangs the Lady Cougars have two back-to-back road games starting with The Meadows Lady Mustangs on Jan. 18 at 4:30 p.m. then against the Lake Mead Lady Eagles on Jan. 24 at 5 p.m.

The Lady Cougars last home game of the season is against the Adelson Lady Lions on Jan. 29 at 4:30 p.m.

The last three league games are all road games for the Lady Cougars.

They take on the Mountain View Lady Saints on Jan. 31 at 4:30 p.m., Lincoln County Lady Lynx on Feb. 2 at 2 p.m., and finish the regular season against the Calvery Chapel Lady Lions on Feb. 8 at 6 p.m.
