Random House Head Join New Firm
NEW YORK (AP) _ Erik Engstrom is stepping down as president of Random House Inc. to join General Atlantic Partners, an investment firm focusing on technology and telecommunications.
Engstrom had overseen Random House’s financial, operational and sales activities. His duties will be assumed by Random House’s CEO Peter Olson and two other senior executives, executive vice president Y.S. Chi and Don Weisberg, the head of sales.
Random House is a unit of Bertelsmann, the German media group that also controls the BMG music company and numerous broadcasting properties in Europe.
