2 Killed in Lebanon Bomb Explosion
BEIRUT, Lebanon (AP) _ A bomb exploded in a moving car east of the capital today, killing two people inside, police officials said.
The 6 1/2-pound bomb, apparently placed under the driver’s seat, mangled the Renault and slightly damaged nearby buildings, the officials said on customary condition of anonymity.
A motive for the early morning bombing in Dora was not clear.
The driver, identified as George Dib, and passenger Tony Bou Nakhle died instantly.
Bombings have become rare in Beirut since the end of the 1975-90 civil war.
