One crumpled truck; minor injuries to driver
The wearing of a seat belt is being credited with possibly saving the life of Kevin Nissen, 55, of Wayne, after the truck he was driving on Highway 15 about 20 miles south of Pilger ended up looking this way.
Stanton County Sheriff Mike Unger said Nissen was northbound on highway 15 at about 7:15 a.m. Saturday when it went off the edge of the road.
After Nissen tried to over-correct, the truck ended up rolling several times before ending up on its side. Nissen only suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene by the Howells Rescue Squad, Unger said.
Highway 15 was expected to be closed for an extended period of time Saturday in order to get the truck removed and other clean-up work.
