SKDO announces 2 partner promotions

Smith, Koelling, Dykstra & Ohm, a full service accounting firm in Bourbonnais, recently announced it has promoted both Karen Hassett and Carmen Huizenga to partner.

They join the five current partners: Wayne Koelling, Marcie Meents Kolberg, Keith Ohm, Richard Stenzinger and Mike Stroud.

Hassett is the director of taxation and joined the firm in 1997. She earned her bachelor of science in accounting from Illinois State University and is a CPA with more than 20 years of experience in public accounting. She focuses mainly on individual taxation.

Huizenga is the director of audit and accounting services and joined the firm in 1998. She completed her bachelor of arts in accounting from Northwestern College and is a CPA who uses her 20 years of experience to focus mainly on auditing governmental and nonprofit organizations within the community.

Both Hassett and Huizenga enjoy working with staff, partners and clients to achieve business goals.

SKDO has been providing tax, audit and accounting services to the Kankakee area for more than 40 years.
